Made in 1940 for the German Air Force, delivered on November 14th, 1940 to Siegfried Heindorf, Berlin. Very fine and extremely rare, large, anti-magnetic, anti-corrosion stainless steel military pilot’s wristwatch with center seconds and the original IWC aviator’s leather strap. Accompanied by the IWC Extract from the Archives and a Wrist Compass. Four-body, matte gray, lapidated bezel, concave lugs, large winding crown, stainless steel cuvette, snap-on case back, band engraved with FL 23883 . Black with luminous Arabic numerals and baton indexes, outer minute division. Luminous blued steel lozenge hands. Cal 52 T-SC, gilt brass, straight-line lever escapement, bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case signed, numbered on the movement. Diam. 55 mm. Thickness 17 mm. Notes This watch is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Dr. Konrad Knirim confirming that this piece was part of his private collection.
