Chinese, likely early 20th century. Carved bamboo brush pot of natural cylindrical form with exterior carved with scholars under stylized pine trees and cloud scrolls, man wearing wide hat standing and rowing boat approaching figures, rocks in landscape. Unmarked, drilled hole at bottom, possibly converted for use as jardiniere or lamp at earlier date. Approximate height 7.125", width 4.5", depth 4.25".
