American, first half of the 20th century. A drug store apothecary advertising clock from the Metropolitan Drug Store located in Princeton, Missouri having a the circular molded top with brass and glass hinged cover enclosing the tin dial painted with black circled lettering for 'BLACK DRAUGHT' above Roman numerals and 'REGULATES THE LIVER', having black spade and pointer hand, the long drop with reverse painted door 'Chattanooga Medicine' 'McElree's Womans Relief' and 'Chattanooga Tennessee'. Approximate height 32.5", width 18", depth 4.25". Note: Black Draught was a product used with livestock Cardui, the Woman’s Tonic was produced by McElrees. Provenance: From an ancestor of Dr. W. F. Buren, druggist with the Metropolitan Drug Store, located in Princeton, Missouri.
