P. Nardin, Le Locle, Swiss, circa 1900. Fine gold field cut hunting cased, keyless pocket chronometer, awarded à 1st. prize at the Observatory of Neuchâtel. Four body, massive, demi-bassine, polished. Gold field cuvette engraved with the awarded prize and technical details. White enamel with Roman numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. 20-, frosted and gilt, hait plate, 15 jewels, spring detent escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve. Signed on the cuvette. In good condition; Diam. 57 mm. Notes This chronometer was certainly specially made for the Observatory contest and therefore, as usual a precious metal case was not required.
