Ilbery, London, No. 6299, made for the Chinese market, circa 1810. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel center seconds watch, painted in the manner of Richter, with special escapement. Double body, the fixed bezel, pendant and bow, with champleve enamelled decoration, a fine pastoral scene of domestic life, with three young maids and a boy, reading a letter (slightly restored on the border). Gold hinged cuvette with engraved decoration. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold pierced hands. 22-, gilt brass, fully engraved, Chinese caliber with free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement, three armed steel balance with three trapezoïdal weights and screws, flat balance spring and diamond end-stone. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
