Edouard Juvet, Fleurier, Swiss, made for the Indian Market, circa 1840. Fine gilt silver, enamel and pearl-set, center seconds watch with special escapement. Double body, Empire, with reeded band, split-pearl set bezels, pendant and bow, the back enamelled with a very fine painted scene, depicting Indians hunting an elephant. Hinged gilt silver cuvette, engraved with a star and further ribbon decoration. GiIt brass, Chinese caliber, florally engraved overall, with free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement, polished steel f ive armed balance, flat balance spring. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
