Augsburg, circa 1620 Rare and important, 6 hour striking table clock with alarm, made for the Italian market, GiIt bronze, designed as a tower with glazed side panels and stepped base, the bell within the dome with 4 side pinnacles (restoredl). silvered dial on the front with Roman numerals with inner Arabic 24 hour ring, central gilt revolving alarm setting disc. Silver subsidiary dial below for the quarters. Blued steel hands (replacement!). brass posted frame, brass wheels going train with steel pinions, fusee with gut-line, verge escapement with later short pendulum. Striking train with fixed barrel, silvered six hour striking dial on the rear face, with champleve floral decoration. In good condition. Dim.: h. 25 cm, base 12 x 12 cm.
