Cartier, Paris, No. 15785-19345, entered in the Register on the 20 March 1915. Rare and unusual 18 ct. gold, keyless "Chevalet" pendant traveling purse watch. Double piece, square, satine with rounded corners, the back engraved with the dedication: "A toi". The large half moon bow can be fold down for use as a stand. Mat silver, upside down, with luminescent Arabic numerals. Blued steel skeletonized luminescent hands. Notes Specially designed dual purpose traveling watch with " upside-down" dial for easy reading when worn as a pendant, but turning to the upright position if the pendant is folded under to form a foot when the watch is placed on a horizontal surface such as a table. "Chevalet" is the term used in the manufacturing records to describe this type of watch.
