Magnificent 18 ct. gold and enamel pearl-set and diamond inlaid hunting-cased minute-repeating keyless watch with chronograph and progressive 30 minute recorder. Four body, massive, "pomme et gouge" with split-pearl set bezels, the cover of translucent red enamel with central rosette lavishly inlaid with old cut diamonds on a translucent green enamel, the reverse with a similar panel, enamelled with a steeplechase. Gold cuvette with half-length portrait of a Maharaja painted on enamel in the manner of Juliette Herbert. White enamel with Roman nmerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph ring, sunk subsidiary seconds and minute register. Gold Louis XV hands. Notes Juliette Herbert,specialised in portrait enamels particularly for watch cases;sometimes signed with the monogram H.J. She exhibited at the National Exhibition in Geneva in 1896,and at the Universal Exhibition,Brussels in 1897.
