A. Guimac, French, circa 1780. Very fine and rare 22 ct. gold "à toc" quarter-repeating skeleton watch. Two body, massive, Louis XVI style, bezels decorated with two colour gold foliage, concealed thumbpiece. Crystal glass with reverse painted white Roman numerals. Polished silver moon hands. Notes The workmanship of this watch exhibits an extraordinary attention to detail, by an apparently unrecorded maker, to skeletonise so completly a repeating watch.
