Cartier, France, No. 2824O, Delivered to England in 1928. Very rare and fine 18 ct. gold keyless "mystérieuse" watch, with original fitted Cartier box. Two piece, massive, facetted octagonal form. Clear circular glass panels with champlevé black enamel Roman hour numerals on the case. Blued-steel Breguet "antique" hands. By Jaeger, Swiss. Rectangular, nickelled, 15 jewels, bimetallic uncut balance, flat spring, mounted with the additional train on spotted brass plate. Case signed Cartier, movement signed Jaeger. In perfect condition. Dim. 40 x 40mm. Notes Cartier were famous for their ingenuity in creating a wide range of mystery clocks. However very few such watches are known to exist.
