Moeris, Swiss, circa 1918. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel hunting cased keyless watch. Four body, massive, "pomme et filet, grande gouge", with engraved band, covers decorated with engraved gold foliage on bottle green champleve ground, enclosing within irregular hexagons finely enamelled winter landscape scenes in iridiscent colours. Gold cuvette with medal awards. White enamel, Arabic nurnerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued-steel moon hands (replaced). 18", nickelled with "fausses côtes" decoration, 17 jewels with screwed chatons, lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet spring with micrometer index. Signed case and movement, dial with retailers name. In excellent condition. Diam. 51 mm. Notes The iridiscent colouring of the sky and water simulates the pale winter light.
