Brass base plate and original wooden base with drawer and original key. Circular silvered with revolving brass chapter ring with adjustable Japanese night and day numerals. Fixed pierced blued-steel hand. Circular plates, brass rack, gravity operated going train, verge escapement, plain balance, continental style cock. Spring driven hour striking on a bell. Moulded wood travelling case with florally pierced and silk backed brass side panels and carrying handle. In good condition. Dim. 28.5 x 13 x 8.5cm. Notes Japanese clocks employing a gravity "rack" system are exceptionally rare.
