Fatton, Eleve de Breguet, London, No. 45, made in 1819. Very rare and large repeating "Souscription" watch. Four body, "Empire", engine-turned with reeded band. White enamel (hair cracks), Breguet nurnerals with 5 minute divisions. Single "arrow" hand. Frosted and gilt brass, of "Souscription" calibre, large going-barrel, ruby cylinder escapement with plain 3-arm balance, flat spring, parachute anci compensation curb. Twist and push pendant, dumb repeating on the case. Signed dial and case. In good condition. Diam. 62mm. Notes Fatton was a pupil of Breguet before becoming his agent ( with Recordon) in London. The construction of this watch is so similar to the Souscription model that it seems probable that at least the ebauche came from Breguet in Paris. The addition of a repeating train appears to be unique to Fatton.
