Not signed, Swiss, circa 1820. Fine and unusual, silver skeletonised Thermometer with compass. Three body, Empire with reeded band and glazed back. Silver chapter ring on the front engraved with graduation in Reaumur and Fahrenheit degrees. Compass on the back with knurled wheel on the band to set the hand to the north direction. Gilt brass, constructed on a principal similar to that used by Houriet, Jiirgensen and Breguet for their thermometers, with bimetallic curb, rack and pinion. Signed on the dial.
