Js. Hubert, London, No. 777, circa 1750. Fine 20 ct. gold and enamel pair cased quarter repeating watch. Double body Louis XV outer, the bezel pierced and engraved with a floral decoration, the back with a fine champleve enamel painted bunch of flowers (slightly restored) outer pierced and chased border, diamondset end-piece. Inner double body bassine, pierced and engraved with a mask and inhabited foliage. White enamel with Arabic numerals (slightly later and with hair lines). Gold Louis XV hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with column pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass English cock. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Silver dust cap. Signed on dust cap and back plate. In good condition. Diam. 48 mm.
