Louis Berthoud Horloger de la Marine, No. 93, sold on 29 Fructidor year XIII to Mr. Hulot, for 2500 Francs. Bought back from Mr. Hulot's widow on the 9 November 1810, for 2000 Francs, it was sold to the Marine the same month. Very fine marine chronometer. Three piece mahogany deck watch type, the brass bowl with screwed bezel. White enamel regulator type with small Roman eccentric chapter for hours, outer Arabic minute ring on the border and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. Notes This chronometer was previously in the celebrated collection of precision watches formed by Cecil Clutton. It is described and illustrated in his book Collector's collection.
