Not signed, Swiss, circa 1785. Very fine and rare, 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl and diamond-set quarter repeating watch on two bells. With matching seed-pearl set gold and enamel chain and key. Double body, with split-pearl set bezels and band, the back of blue translucent enamel over engineturning, with a rose-diamond set basket of split pearl inlaid flowers. White enamel with Arabic numerals. Gold Breguet hands. Hinged gilt brass, special calibre with the the bells fixed on the front plate over the going barrel, the croissant shaped full plate going and repeating trains on the border, with cylindrical pillars, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance beneath the dial with flat balance spring. Repeating by depressing the pendant. In very good condition. Diam.54 mm. Notes Although not signed, this watch can be attributed to Chevalier et Cocher, Geneva, who were reputed for this type of movement with inset bells.
