Not signed, English, made for the Indian market, circa 1860. Fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel, diamond-set, patented early keyless watch. Three body, "bassine et filets", with diamond inlaid blue champleve enamelled decoration (slightly restored), the revolving back with hinged bezel. Gold engine-turned with Roman numerals, the centre engraved with a floral decoration. Blued steel " spade" hands. Notes A fixed pinion, screwed inside the revolving back meshes with a steel wheel set on the barrel's arbor. The hand set device is drawn from that used on most centre seconds watches with Pouzait lever escapement and extra large second beating balance.
