Mallot à Blois, circa 1630. Fine gilt-brass and rock-crystal watch with a contemporary movement. Two body with gilt brass front frame, hinged to pierced and engraved mounting brackets with loose ring pendant and button finial. Octagonal faceted rock crystal cover and back. Hinged gilt bras dial plate chased with scrolled foliage, a laying nude lady at the top a seating cherub below the applied silver champleve dial with Roman numerals and foliage decoration on border and centre. Later single blued steel hand. Contemporary gilt brass full plate with turned urn pillars, short train with fusee an gutline, verge escapement, plain steel two-arm balance without spring, irregular oval foliage pierced silver cock secured by a screw and worm-and-wheel setup. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Dim. 56 x 32 mm.
