Thomas Abbott (English, active 1830 - 1860), circa 1850s. A matched and charming pair of bronze candle holders by Thomas Abbott modeled as a potted plant or jardiniere with turned and tapered stem headed with single candlecup and centered by three leafy fronds emanating from a turned planter or jardiniere with cast iron loaded octagonal base. Both Iron bases are stamped Abbott. Approximate height 10.25", diameter 4.25". Provenance: Purchased from Withers and Lanham Designs, INC located at 375 Pharr Road, N.E. Suite 205, Atlanta, GA 30305 on March 26, 1987. Copy of receipt is available upon request.
