Not signed, Japanese, mid XIXth century. Fine striking travelling clock on a shitan wood base, with original key. GiIt brass, posted frame with turned pillars. Revolving gilt brass with sliding silver plates for the unequal Japanese hours, the half hours made of Shakudo. Blued steel pierced fixed pointer. GiIt brass dial plate engraved with flowers and foliage. Gilt brass rectangular with turned pillars, the back plate engraved with flowers and foliage, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass twoarm balance covered by the bell with timing weights on the arms, flat balance spring. The striking train with going barrel and count wheel on the back plate. Striking on a bell. In good condition, glazed wooden outer case lacking. Dim. 14 x 11 x 6,5 cm.
