Articulated gem-set gold filigree elements with gem-set black enamelled panels with champleve flowers quivers and lyres, the rectangular cover with scalloped edges, decorated "en suite" with flowers, trophies and cornucopias, centred with a fine rectangular painted representation of " Psyché and Cupid" Gold engine-turned with Roman mimerais on a polished chapter. Gold "spade" bands. Notes Psyché Young girl of great beauty, she was loved by Eros. One night, she lit a lamp, disobeying the God who had forbidden her to see her own face. Eros left her and she found him again after a long series of adventures. The Myth of Psyché bas then represented the destiny of the Fallen Soul, which, after purifying trials, unites forever with heavenly love.
