Cachard, Successeur de Charles Le Roy à Paris, circa 1805. Fine 18 ct. gold quarter repeating watch. Double body, Empire, with reeded band and engineturned back in a sun-burst pattern. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. White enamel with gilt Breguet numerals. Gold Breguet hands with skeletonized tips. GiIt brass, true Lepine caliber with free standing barrel, cylinder escapement with plain brass three arm balance, flat balance spring. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant with typical Lepine repeating train and work. Signed on the dial and the cuvette. In good condition, with a short gold chain, in a later fitted box. Notes This watch was certainly made with an earlier movement from the end of the XVlllth century, possibly coming from the work shop of Lepine.
