Baume & Co. 21, Hatton Garden, London, No. 801228, Swiss for the English market, circa 1890. Fine 18 ct. gold hunting cased, keyless watch. Four body, massive, " bassine et filets", polished. Gold cuvette. White enamel with Roman numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "spade" hands. Notes Baume & Co., London, makers in London since 1840, settled in Geneva in 1882. The trade mark Baume Genève was registered in Geneva on 13 December 1882 under the No. 169, it became Baume & Mercier as soon as 1918, the trade mark "B.M.G. was registered in Geneva on 27 August 1920 under the No. 47601.
