Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1795. Very fine 18 ct. gold, center seconds stop watch with special escapement. Double body, Directoire, polished, glazed on both faces. Later specially made, white enamel with Roman numerals. Gold "arrow" hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with going barrel, Pouzait lever escapement with extra large paste-set, second beating balance, flat balance spring. In very good condition. Diam. 58 mm. Notes Extremely fine example of a late 18th century second beating center seconds watch with the earliest type of lever escapement produced in Switzerland by Moïse Pouzait.
