Le Roy, Horloger de S. A.I. et R. Madame à Paris No. 3191, circa 1810. Extremely fine, historical 18 ct. gold and enamel diamond set "médaillon à tact" with matching clip. With a presentation dedication Signed " Emile". Double body with touch pieces in form of large old cut diamonds linked by a wire with half hour pierced seed pearl markers, cover and back of grey translucent enamel over engine-turning and diamond-set "à tact" arrow. Gold cuvette with a dedication "Donné par Emile" on an applied gold ribbon with gold inscription over a dark blue champleve enamel ground. Small eccentric Roman chapter engraved on the cuvette with engine-turned centre. Single blued steel arrow hand. Gilt brass, Lepine calibre with free standing barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Signed on the back, beneath the enamel and on the barrel. In very good condition, in a later fitted box, specially made by Tiffany Young & Ellis, New York. Diam. 51 nui. This watch and the matching clip are set with 17 carats of old cut diamonds. Notes By its design and the workmanship, this watch can be easily compared with the finest "montres à tact" made by Breguet. Indeed, the quality of the decoration is exceptional by any standards.
