Ch. Oudin, Elève de Breguet, Palais Royal No. 52, Paris, No. 6980, circa 1820. Extremely rare and fine 18 ct. gold, quarterrepeating calendar watch with equation of time. Three body, Empire, with reeded band and bezel, and engine-turned back. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. Silver engine-turned, with Roman numerals on a polished chapter, inner half moon sector for the equation of time and apertures for the dates and the months.blued-steel Breguet hands. Notes Watches with equation of time are extremely rare, and Charles Oudin was a specialist in their production. Indeed, he invented a special equation mechanism, to be used on the Breguet 'montres rie souscription' caliber.
