Winnerl No. 495, circa 1840. Rare and very fine watch with early splitseconds recorder. Four body, "forme quatre baguettes", polished. Gold cuvette. White enamel with Roman numerals and subsidiary split-seconds. blued-steel Breguet hands. Notes A particularly fine example of the earliest form of the split-seconds recorder mechanism with concentric hands, invented by Winnerl, in 1838, and improved in 1840. This mechanism is described in: Bulletin de la Société d'encouragement pour l'Industrie Nationale, 1843, page 195 and 196, plate 893.
