Fine 60 hour going marine chronometer, with double barrel, in mahogany box, with original ratchet key. Two part solid mahogany box with sliding observation lid, brass handles and fittings, brass bowl suspended in circular gimbals.D Matt silvered, signed. "Breguet Fils, No. 3911", small chapter-ring with Roman hour numerals, outer Arabic minute ring, subsidiary dial below for seconds and 60 hour up-and-down sector on the left. Blued steel hands. Brass plate, bridge caliber with two barrels separately wound, navetteshaped platform with spring detent escapement, bimetallic two armed compensation balance, with parachute on the top pivot. Free-sprung with blued-steel helical balance spring, terminal curve and adjustable stud. In very good condition. Dim. 19 x 18 x18 cm. Notes Breguet, No. 3911, sold to the Marine Department on 19 September,1828.
