Breguet No. 1238, sold to Mr. Castaneda on Prairial 6, 12 th year of the Revolution (1804), for 1500 Fr. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel pearl-set "médaillon" montre à tact. Double body "forme collier", made by Tavernier, No. 1115, the cover of translucent grey enamel over engine turning, seed pearl touch pieces on the reeded band, the polished back (once enamelled?), with a pearl set arrow hand. Gold cuvette with eccentric dial aperture, signed, "Breguet No. 1238". Silver small eccentric with Breguet numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Frosted and gilt, signed: "Breguet No. 1238", souscription caliber with central barrel, overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain three armed brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring. In good condition. Diam. 43 mm. Notes Mr. Castaneda was the secretary of the King of Spain: watches bought by him were usually for the Court of Spain.
