Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1820. Fine 18 ct. gold, quarter repeating watch with a concealed erotic automaton scene. Three body, "forme quatre baguettes", engine-turned. GiIt brass cuvette. Silver engine-turned with Roman numerals on a polished chapter and a small rectangular automaton aperture closed by gold engine-turned shutters. Blued steel Breguet hands. GiIt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain gilt brass three arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock and polished steel end-piece. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Disclosed by the shutters on the dial, by means of a slide in the band, the three coloured gold automaton scene, against a blued steel ground, is driven by the repeating train.
