Paul Garnier, circa 1870. Fine and unusual gilt bronze, eight day going, hour and half hour striking, carriage dock with alarm. Shaped as a small XVIIth century bracket dock, with fluted columns, the pediment sumounted by a finial. Silver champlevé with Roman numerals and decoration in the Renaissance style. Subsidiary alarm setting dial. Blued steel bands. Gilt brass dial plate chased with scrolls. Brass rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking train, platform escapement with straight line lever escapement, bimetallic balance, blued steel flat balance spring and regulator. Striking on a bell. In very good condition. Dim. 23 x 11 x 9 cm.
