Not signed, Geneva, circa 1860. Fine gold, enamel and diamond set form keyless pendant watch designed as a scarab beetle. Three part, underside realistically chased and engraved with legs and underbody, wing covers entirely decorated in scarlet translucent enamel over engine turning, richly set with a rosediamond decoration, the thorax and head similarly decorated with rose-diamond and ruby eyes; sprung loaded wing covers from a button in the base to reveal the dial. Hinged gold cuvette, a portrait miniature frame on the interior. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold hands. Oval, frosted and gilt bar caliber with going barrel, 10 jewels, cylinder escapement with plain three-arm balance,flat balance spring and regulator. In very good condition. Dim. 62 mm. overall. 26 mm. wide.
