Ilbery, London, No. 6626, Swiss, made for the Chinese market, circa 1820. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel centre seconds watch with special escapement, in original red Morocco fitted box. Double body with fixed bezel, of the type used for watches made for the Chinese market, bezels and pendant with champleve enamelled decoration, the back enamel panel painted with a family scene, with a sitting gentleman surrounded by his wife, three children and a dog (slightly restored on the border). Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer minute ring. Gold "heart" bands.
