E. Giibelin Inc, (New York), made in 1912 by Geneva Clock Co., Swiss, No. 1236. Very fine silver, enamel and hard stone, minute repeating, eight day going carriage clock, in original fitted box. Rectangular, the base of nephrite, the back panel engine-turned, the spring loaded front doors, and side panels of yellow enamel, painted with Chinese landscapes, the top panel with a flying stork, two subsidiary birds painted inside the doors, black champleve enamel borders. Silver gilt engine-turned, the yellow enamelled bezel painted with Arabic numerals painted in a Chinese style. Red and green champleve enamelled hands. Nickel plated rectangular with going barrel, 15 jewels, straight line lever platform escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with onyx button at the top, which also release the doors. Signed "Giibelin" on the dial, "Geneva Clock" on the case and back plate. In very good condition.
