Just & Son, London, No. 2999, Suisse, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1840. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, centre seconds watch with special escapement. Double body with fixed bezel, entirely decorated with a champleve enamel painted floral decoration on a black ground, as an imitation of cloisonne work. Hinged gilt brass cuvette with engraved decoration. White enamel dial with Roman numerals. Blued steel skeletonised hands. Gilt brass, Chinese calibre with free standing barrel, drawn from that of Lepine, fully engraved with a floral decoration, single wheel duplex escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring and regulator. In very good condition. Diam. 54 mm.
