Very fine, elegant and rare 18 ct. bicoloured gold keyless pocket chronometer with Bulletin de Premiere Classe de 1'Observatoire National de Besancon No 14332, awarded a silver medal with 209,7 points at the timing contest. Three piece, "Empire", polished with reeded band, white gold rims and bow . Hinged gold cuvette. Gold engine-turned, with Roman numerals on a polished chapter, and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. Notes Timing Contest : - Mean average daily rate + / - 0,16 - Error of compensation per degree C + / - 0,136 - Mean error in 6 positions + / - 0,47 The punch mark in form of a viper's head is set by the Observatory of Besancon on watches successful at the contest and awarded the Bulletin de Premiere Classe. Very fine example of a watch of the best quality, produced by L. Leroy & Cie. in the "Vieux style", in the 1920's.
