Unsigned, Swiss, circa 1810. Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold watch with revolving autoinata and visible balance. Double body, Directoire with glazed back, band and bezels with engraved foliage decoration. Eccentric white enamel with Breguet numerals, flanked above with the balance aperture and the small regulator sector. Blued steel "spade" hands. Hinged gilt brass double train, inverted full plate with cylindrical pillars, going train with fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain blued and polished steel fancy four-arm balance oscillating above a polished steel ground, flat balance spring. Automaton train with fixed barrel driving a merry-go-round of three gold automata: a walking hanter drinking from a bottle, a man whipping a mule and a hanter shooting a duck, passing above a painted landscape with a fountain and water spurt. Gold dust cap with a sector automaton aperture, engraved in a sun-burst pattern and chased with a figure of a standing goddess in a medallion. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm. Notes Watches with passing automate are fairly rare, this watch with three revolving automaton figures passing above a landscape with automaton fountain and water sport is exceptional.
