Edmund Bull, in Flee(t)street Fecit, circa 1620. Engraving of the case attributed to Gerard de Heck. Very fine gilt brass and silver octagonal prebalance spring watch. Three body octagonal with gilt brass pendant finials and hinges, the silver band engraved with winged cherubs, flowers and foliage, silver cover and back with scenes sketching the life of Jesus Christ, flanked by the four Evangelists their names engraved below. All the silver panels are enclosed by gilt metal borders. The inside of back and cover slightly engraved with wreath of Laurel. Gilt brass chapter ring with Roman numerals, applied on a silver dial-plate engraved with a scene depicting the ascension of Jesus Christ with further floral and foliage decoration. Blued steel single band. Hinged gilt brass full plate with early Egyptian pillars, fusee with gut lire, verge escapement, two-arm balance without spring, irregular foliage pierced gilt brass cock secured by a pin, ratchet and wheel set-up regulator, matching with blued steel ratchet wheel and spring.
