Not signed, Swiss, circa 1710. Fine and rare gilt brass and silver Louis XIV "oignon" with painted enamel cock. Triple body "oignon", gilt brass overlaid with silver, fully engraved with inhabited foliage (worn), the back opening to reveal the cock, visible through a glazed circular aperture. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. Gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, short flat balance spring, fine cock set with a full size enamel plaque, painted with the portrait of a lady over a black ground in the manner of the Huaud brothers.
