Pearl and Diamond Diadem / Necklace probably Dutch, late 19th Century, modified in 1934 by Cartier Notes The owner of this diadem was among the honored guests who attended and witnessed one of the most glorious and historically important ceremonies held in Westminster Abbey this century: the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, on lune 2nd, 1952. A photograph, published in newspapers of the day, shows the Queen leaving the Abbey carrying the sceptre in her right hand and the globe in her left hand. In the second row to her right, can be seen the present diadem elegantly worn by its aristocratie owner.
