Extremely fine and rare 18K gold, keyless pocket chronometer with detent escapement, 52 1/2 minute revolving Karrusel, with original fitted box. Four body, massive, "bassine" with engineturned back centered with the engraved monogram: "J.S.R.". Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border. White enamel with Roman numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds; Blued steel "spade" hands. Notes Very unusual pocket chronometer with a revolving escapement. hlvented by Bonniksen, the Karrusel 52 1/2 minute revolving regulator, was almost always fitted with an English lateral lever escapement. This chronometer is fitted with a spring detent escapement, set on a gilt brass carriage, revolving in 52 1/2 minutes. According to Ulysse Nardin, only two such watches were ever produced, the second one being in the museum of the company.
