Early 20th century. Mahogany wood cased lap desk of standard rectangular form with brass metal strap banded accents on box. with "J.D. Allcock" engraved on brass medallion plaque on top of hinged lid that opens to reveal green felt writing surface within and three compartments at bottom for storing writing instruments and supplies. Two inset brass handles on side of box raised on stand with four tapered legs. Height 19", width 20", depth 10".
