Unsigned, South Germany, circa 1600. Fine gilt bronze octagonal staakfreed watch. hree body with hinged back, the small circular cover with chapter apertures. Silver engraved with Roman hour chapters. Gilt brass single hand. Octagonal gilt brass full plate with square pillars, fixed barrel with revolving arbor and staakfreed, short steel going train with verge escapement, two-arm balance without balance spring, gilt brass "S" cock and hog bristle regulator. In very good condition. Dim. 53 x 36 mm. Notes Very good example of the type of watches produced in South Germany at the end of the 16th century.
