Gold champleve with Roman chapters and half hour divisions. Single blued steel hand. Hinged gilt brass full plate with pierced quatrefoil pillars, fusee with gut-line, three-wheel train with verge escapement, plain two-arm steel balance without spring, florally pierced gilt brass foliate pierced and engraved oval cock secured by a screw. Worm-and-wheel set-up with pierced silver brackets and indicating disc. Signed on the movement and case. In very good condition. Diam. 40 mm. Notes The scene depicted on the back of this watch is an allegory drawn from the Book of Daniel: While basing in a river, Susan was solicited by to old men, who upon her refusal, publicly accused her of having seduced them.
