Shaker Pine, Cherry, and Birch Sewing Desk, New England, mid-19th century, the top section lifts off the base, turned walnut pulls appear original, old refinish, (minor imperfections), overall ht. 42, wd. 29 3/4, dp. 28, ht. to work surface, 25 3/4 in. work surface with 16 in. shrinakge crack; back overhang of top has mounted iron brackets on underside, to compensate for another crack; round nails added to supplement backboard.
