Two Oval Lapped-seam Covered Boxes, America, 19th century, both boxes made with maple sides and pine tops and bottoms, the larger box probably Shaker-made, the sides joined with four fingers, the smaller box with remains of red paint, (cracks, repairs), ht. 3 7/8, 2 5/8, dia. 10 3/8, 6 1/2 in. Larger(Shaker) box with repaired crack across the top, 1/2 in. crack to rim on cover at one end near nail, couple small cracks at bottom at copper tack holes; smaller box has some putty repairs on rim of cover and at a few of the tack areas;
