Charles Emile Jacque (French, 1813-1894) View of a Shepherdess Watching a Grazing Ewe and Lamb at Pasture Signed "Ch. Jacques" l.r., with a partial label from Goupil's, 170 Fifth Avenue, New York, on the reverse. Oil on panel, 14 3/4 x 18 1/8 in. (37.5 x 46.0 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, subtle varnish inconsistencies, minor surface grime. Several abrasions, with the longest abrasion to the u.l. quadrant measuring approximately 1/2 in. length above and to the right of the shepherdess's head, varnish inconsistencies to the u.l. quadrant.
