Eliot Candee Clark (American, 1883-1980) Grand Teton, Jackson Hole Country, Wyoming , 1925 Signed "Eliot Clark" l. l., titled, dated, and signed "...Eliot Clark" in pen on the bottom tacking margin, also numbered "256" and stamped "Eliot Clark ESTATE" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 32 x 40 in. (81.3 x 101.6 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch. The lining is relatively recent, and is adhered with glue or resin. This was perhaps done to lessen the faint ridges that are visible in the composition in raking light. The retouch is scattered dashed, primarily, but not exclusively within the white areas.
